Cat Portals Installed Thanks To Grant From CRCF
The Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) is now able to offer cats a more comfortable stay as the wait for their adoptive families. Thanks to generous donations from the community and a $2,000 dollar grant through the Axel W. Carlson Memorial Fund for Field of Interest.
CCHS Director of Animal Services Sue Bobek said “The purpose of the cat portal is to give the cats more space in their kennel and to give separation from their living quarters and their litter box. Studies show that when cats enjoy the benefits these portals provide they are happier, healthier and get adopted much quicker.” Bobek also thanked Kurt Sturzenbecker for his work to install the portals.
