Local Senior Makes Large Donation to CCHS

The dogs at the Chautauqua County Humane Society are going to be enjoying Peanut Butter and canned Pumpkin for a long time thanks to the efforts of a local high school senior. Lauren Barmore who attends Panama High School recently held a Peanut Butter and Pumpkin Drive as a project for her Government Class and collected 170 jars of peanut butter and cans of pumpkin! Chautauqua County Humane Society Community Relations Director Brian Papalia said “I hope Lauren’s project serves as an example to other area youth of how you can do something that serves a great purpose to an organization and make it a fun community event.” Papalia also said “We are grateful to Lauren for taking the time to target a very specific need here at the Chautauqua County Humane Society, and take action." Lauren distributed flyers and collection boxes through her community and even held a competition between elementary classes in the Panama school system.
