Sniffing Out History at the Fenton History Center

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (JULY 6, 2018) – The Fenton History Center and Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) are teaming up to present Sniffing Out History, from 10am to 2pm Saturday July 28 on the grounds of the history center. Sniffing Out History is a free, family friendly event that offers visitors the opportunity to experience local history through a number of outdoor exhibits, some including famous animals of Chautauqua County. CCHS is adding a unique twist by bringing a number of animals that will be up for adoption. CCHS Community Relations Director Brian Papalia says “Teaming up with Noah Goodling and the folks at the Fenton to create this unique event where visitors will have the opportunity to interact with local history exhibits, as well as meet, and possibly adopt their next furry family member has been a fantastic experience. We are so happy to be working with them.”
Sniffing Out History is a family and animal friendly event. Fenton History Center Executive Director Noah Goodling says “It’s exciting to invite families and their dogs to come to the Fenton and see the beautiful grounds we have around the mansion, as well as learn about some fun local history.” Visitors bringing pets are asked to have dogs leashed, and current on their vaccinations. Visitors are also asked to be mindful about cleaning up after their pets.
