Humane Education Shelter Visit

The Chautauqua County Humane Society is proud to welcome local classrooms and community groups for engaging Humane Education visits right here at our shelter. These interactive sessions feature fun games and hands-on activities designed to teach the importance of kindness, respect, and humane treatment of pets—while giving students and participants a behind-the-scenes look at our daily work.
During your visit, participants will:
• Explore the inner workings of the shelter and learn how we care for animals every day.
• Meet shelter pets and hear their stories.
• Take part in interactive activities that make learning about responsible pet care both fun and memorable.

Our programs are tailored to be age-appropriate and encourage active participation, making each visit both educational and inspiring. By connecting directly with the shelter, students and groups gain a deeper understanding of animal welfare and the role they can play in building a compassionate community.
