Part Time Canine Behavior and Enrichment Tech

Position Overview: The Canine Behavior and Enrichment Tech at CCHS is responsible for ensuring that all dogs receive the enrichment and training they need to minimize their length of stay and keep them happy and healthy during their time in the shelter. The Canine Behavior and Enrichment Tech is plays an important role in dog adoptions and therefore must have customer care skills and enjoy working with the public.

Key Responsibilities: The Canine Behavior and Enrichment Tech performs dog behavior evaluations, creates dog care plans, oversees play groups, and provides walks, meals, enrichment, behavior modification, and training for the dogs. Training and working with volunteers is a core piece of this position

Qualifications, Required

Experience with companion animals

Computer literacy

Must meet the physical requirements of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds; frequent stooping, bending, carrying, standing, and walking

Strong communication skills including the ability to speak clearly and listen effectively

Ability to use good judgment in decision-making and solution-finding

The consistent use of humor, patience, and good will in working with a diverse group of people

Qualifications, Preferred

Education or certification in an animal-related field

Valid driver’s license

This position is 30 hours/week, $13.20-$13.50 per hour and will include weekends, evenings, and holidays.
