CCHS PENNIES 4 PAWS CAMPAIGN SETS RECORD HIGH IN 2015

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (July 7, 2015) The Chautauqua County Humane Society released a final total for the 2015 Pennies 4 Paws campaign. The community, local businesses and the five radio stations of Media One Group helped raise a record high $32,439.58 for the shelter’s upcoming building expansion and renovation project. This was the tenth year for the P4P campaign.

The P4P campaign began on February 12 and ran through the end of April; however P4P donations are accepted year-round.

“With the help of our very generous community we were able to exceed our goal this year,” said Hannah Braun, community relations coordinator for CCHS. “Peek N’ Peak, South Hills Country Club, Shults Auto Group, Cummins Inc., and multiple local schools were champions this year by holding their own special events with proceeds to benefit the shelter,” said Braun.

Aside from special events, hundreds of individuals came to the shelter and the Second Chances Thrift Stores to donate loose change they had been saving for the animals. Over 100 specially marked P4P containers and memorial paw prints could be found at local business and organizations throughout the county during the two-month campaign.

Media One Group has supported P4P from the beginning and gave CCHS staff and volunteers the opportunity to discuss the program on-air with several of their radio personalities.

"The Staff of Media One works hard to support community efforts like pennies for paws and we are happy to have helped The Chautauqua County Humane Society make their annual campaign the most successful yet by helping them raise over 32 thousand dollars during this year's campaign and over 250 thousand in the years we have worked together," said Brian Papalia, Operations Manager for Media One.

BARK N’ BREW FUNDRAISER AT SOUTHERN TIER BREWING COMPANY

A SUCCESS FOR HUMANE SOCIETY

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (July 9, 2015) The sixth annual Bark N’ Brew charity fundraiser to benefit the Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) was held on June 17 at the Southern Tier Brewing Company. The event fundraised over $28,542 for the animals awaiting adoption at CCHS. Money collected allows the shelter to offer fee-waived adoption programs, reduced fee spay/neuter clinics and other adoption services year-round to the community.
Southern Tier Brewing Company is the generous host for the event with other major contributors including Ludwig Auctions, Greg Peterson, Pepsi Bottling Group of Jamestown, Jefferson Middle School, and the five stations of Media One Group.
“There is no better atmosphere than to be at one of the best breweries in our country, Southern Tier Brewing Company (STBC), joined by individuals that are all there to support one common cause,” said Hannah Braun, Community Relations Coordinator for CCHS. “It is because of STBC’s commitment and support of CCHS that this event continues to grow each and every year,” said Braun.
Over 60 donors from the community made the live and chinese auctions a success. Some of the featured items included tickets to the upcoming Carole Burnett and Jerry Seinfeld shows, coffee for a year at Tim Horton’s, a beautiful wood-crafted four post dog bed, among many other items.
