 CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY TEAMS UP WITH WGRZ Ch. 2 On Your Side TO HOST FOURTH ANNUAL PET ADOPTION DRIVE – CLEAR THE SHELTERS – ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 18TH

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (July 26, 2018) – The Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) is teaming up with WGRZ Ch. 2 On Your Side to host NBC/Universal Owned Television Stations’ Clear the Shelters fourth annual nationwide pet adoption drive. CCHS will offer the public no-cost adoptions on Saturday, August 18th, as part of the nationwide Clear the Shelters initiative that seeks to find new homes for homeless pets.

This year’s Clear the Shelters event comes after last year’s highly successful effort, which resulted in nearly 80,000 pets finding new homes through an unprecedented partnership between the NBC/Universal Owned Television Stations and hundreds of animal shelters located all across the country and in Puerto Rico. The nationwide day of action literally emptied dozens of animal shelters across the country and inspired local communities to take action and open their homes to animals in need.

Locally at CCHS 39 animals found their forever homes during last year’s Clear the Shelters.  Community Relations Director Brian Papalia says “It was an amazing site to see the shelter, nearly empty. CCHS had the highest success rate in Western New York. We are really looking forward to seeing these kind of results again this year.”

CCHS Healthy Pet Clinic, Saturday July 28th at St. Luke's Church

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY ANNOUNCES HEALTHY PET CLINIC

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (July 23, 2018) The Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) announces its next low cost Healthy Pet Clinics for the public.  The second clinic to be held in the south county will be this Saturday, July 28th, 2018, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Jamestown from 10am until 1pm. No appointments will be necessary. The clinic will operate on a first come, first served basis, and is for healthy dogs and cats only.

CCHS Executive Director Kellie Roberts says “This is a chance for folks in the community that don’t have regular access to a veterinarian to have a low cost option for their healthy dog or cat to receive a basic check-up and their rabies and distemper vaccinations. These services, among others, will be available to anyone who needs them. We were able to help nearly fifty animals during our first clinic in June, and look forward to helping as many or more this time around.”

The Healthy Pet Clinic is a one stop wellness shop, with participants having their visit with local veterinarian Harry Shaw, DVM.  In addition to a basic examination and core vaccinations, deworming and other wellness services will be provided as needed and there will be the option to purchase flea and tick products at special CCHS pricing, including Seresto collars, Advantage II for cats, and K9 Advantix II.

Roberts thanked Father Luke Fodor and St. Luke’s Church for allowing CCHS to use the church’s undercroft for the Healthy Pet Clinics saying “We are always grateful for the support we receive from St. Luke’s Church, and are happy that we are able to continue to use the undercroft. It is a perfect space for our Healthy Pet Clinics. And I would also like to extend our thanks to the Jessie Smith Darrah Fund and the Ingrid M. Dawson Memorial Fund at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation for the funding that makes these clinics possible for our friends and neighbors.”

When participants arrive they should use the 4th Street entrance to St. Luke’s and come prepared with dogs properly leashed and cats in carriers.  Cash and credit cards will be accepted. Please bring any previous rabies vaccination certificates and any veterinarian records from the past year, if available. A small co-pay will be requested for the basic services, although receiving care is not based on one’s ability to pay. Other services, including heartworm, Lyme disease, and feline leukemia testing will be available at a low cost.

CCHS Announces Healthy Pet Clinic

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (June 8, 2018) The Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) announces its new community program, a series of Healthy Pet Clinics for the public.  The first clinic will be held Saturday, June 23rd, 2018, at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Jamestown from 10am until 2pm. No appointments will be necessary. The clinic will operate on a first come, first served basis, and is for healthy dogs and cats only.

Booster Vaccines $10, heart worm testing for dogs $15,  heart worm preventative $7 (monthly), microchip with registration $25, Feline Leukemia/FIV testing for cats $15, deworming treatment wide spectrum, and Bordetella vaccine (Kennel Cough) $8.
