The Community Supports Pennies 4 Paws 2019

   THANKS TO THE COMMUNITY FOR SUPPORTING PENNIES 4 PAWS! 

Katherine Beaver’s 6th grade class at the Randolph Central School recently held their annual Penny Drive to benefit the animals at the Chautauqua County Humane Society.  Beaver said “My 6th grade class was in charge of running the Penny Drive. They wrote announcements, made collection jars and delivered them to classrooms. At the end of our drive, my students collected the penny jars from all over the school. Mrs. Bedell's classroom helped out by counting the pennies!“

This is the 14th year in a row Beaver’s class has organized and ran the Penny Drive.  Beaver said “my students always look forward to doing this every year and helping out the animals.  They especially love when you all pick up the pennies and bring special visitors with you!” This year CCHS staff brought two puppies GQ and Calvin Klein who were adopted shortly after the visit.  Learn more about the Chautauqua County Humane Society at spcapets.com.

At the Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS)  we are grateful for all of the people that show love and support to the animals that come through our doors.  Meet Cindy Tamer of Irving, New York. In 2018 Cindy spearheaded the “Hearts for Pets” campaign put on by the Amvets Post 6472 Ladies Auxiliary based in Silver Creek that resulted in an $1,100 donation and an entire van load of donations.

In 2019 Cindy has once again put her talents to work for the benefit of the animals that rely on CCHS.  Cindy placed and managed the donations of 10 canisters in that north county area which resulted in hundreds of dollars of donations.  When asked why she is so dedicated to helping the animals of Chautauqua County Cindy Said “I’m helping Pennies 4 Paws to bring more awareness to animals in shelters.  Maybe if people see the struggles of both the animals and the shelters, the will stop treating animals as disposable pets.

Cindy is a cat lover with “lots of cats”, and even has a business based around cats called Gizmo’s Nip Fish which can be found on Facebook.
