Thursday, April 9, 2020

Something incredible has happened in animal shelters across the United States during these unprecedented times. Thousands of once homeless animals found their way from shelters to couches in a matter of days amid the country's Covid-19 pandemic. Families across America opened their homes to foster and adopt shelter dogs and cats clearing many shelters out! At the Chautauqua County Humane Society 75 pets have gone home and another 37 have been placed in foster homes since March 13th.  That is over 80% of the average pet population in our facilities that our now in homes!

This is something that should be celebrated and embraced! Many folks may be new to fostering or adopting and the board, volunteers and staff of CCHS can’t thank you enough for standing hand in hand with us to save lives.

Join us on April 18th for the National House Pawty!  This event is family-friendly - all two and four-legged family members encouraged to attend. Click here to learn more about the National House Pawty.
