NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (January 16, 2017) – The Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kellie Roberts as its new executive director. Kellie succeeds Jeff Lubi, who announced his retirement effective January 1.
Kellie, a Falconer Central School graduate, brings with her an impressive background in shelter management, animal care, and nonprofit development. Most recently, Kellie served as the Director of Placement Services for the Animal Friends animal shelter in Pittsburgh, PA. She received her bachelor’s degree in business, management, and economics with a concentration in business and nonprofit management from Empire State College in Jamestown, NY. She also received a bachelor’s degree in literature with a minor in journalism from SUNY Oneonta and an associate’s degree in veterinary technology from SUNY Delhi.
“I am pleased to have this opportunity to advance the vital programs and services offered by CCHS to the animals and people of our community,” said Kellie. “I look forward to working with the board, staff, volunteers, and the public in this endeavor.”
In addition to her role at Animal Friends, Kellie also served as the Director of Programs and Services at the Animal Care Sanctuary in East Smithfield, PA. Kellie led and assisted her team(s) in developing innovative programs and services; created successful volunteer and foster care programs; and successfully achieved program funding through grant writing.
“Kellie brings extensive experience in a shelter environment and has all of the most important qualities we had been seeking in an executive director,” said Maggie Irwin, president of the Board of Directors. “On behalf of the board, we are confident that Kellie can continue to lead CCHS on a path of success. Her record of accomplishment and leadership will help to expand our objectives in the work of animal welfare.”
