CCHS Announces Next North County Low Cost Healthy Pet Clinic

CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY ANNOUNCES NEXT HEALTHY PET CLINIC
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (July 30, 2018) The Chautauqua County Humane Society (CCHS) announces the next in a series of low cost Healthy Pet Clinics for the public. The next north county clinic will be held Saturday, August 18th, 2018, at the Pet Pantry in Dunkirk from 10am until 1pm. No appointments will be necessary. The clinic will operate on a first come, first served basis, and is for healthy dogs and cats only.
CCHS Executive Director Kellie Roberts says “This is a chance for folks in the community that don’t have regular access to a veterinarian to have a low cost option for their healthy dog or cat to receive a basic check-up and their rabies and distemper vaccinations. These services, among others, will be available to anyone who needs them.” Roberts also says “Now that we have a few of the clinics under our belt, we have seen that there truly is a need, and appreciation for these services across the county.”
The low cost Healthy Pet Clinic is a one stop wellness shop, with participants having their visit with local veterinarian Mark McConnon, DVM. In addition to a basic examination and core vaccinations, deworming and other wellness services will be provided as needed and there will be the option to purchase flea and tick products at special CCHS pricing, including Seresto collars, Advantage II for cats, and K9 Advantix II.
Roberts thanked Judy Morris and the volunteers at the Pet Pantry for allowing CCHS to use the space for the Healthy Pet Clinics saying “We are grateful for the support from Judy and the volunteers at the Pet Pantry, and are happy that we are able to use the space on Lark Street, near P&G Foods. And I would also like to extend our thanks to the Jessie Smith Darrah Fund and the Ingrid M. Dawson Memorial Fund at the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation for the funding that makes these clinics possible for our friends and neighbors.”
Participants should come prepared with dogs properly leashed and cats in carriers. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. Please bring any previous rabies vaccination certificates and any veterinarian records from the past year, if available. A small co-pay will be requested for the basic services, although receiving care is not based on one’s ability to pay. Other services, including heartworm, Lyme disease, and feline leukemia testing will be available at a low cost.
Be sure to bring your pet to the Chautauqua County Humane Society’s Healthy Pet Clinic from 10am to 1pm, Saturday, August 18th 2018, at the Pet Pantry, on Lark Street, behind P&G Foods in Dunkirk.
