TOMMY IS THE 2020 CCHS HOT DOGS, COOL CATS PET OF THE YEAR!

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (January 31, 2020) The Chautauqua County Humane Society's (CCHS) Hot Dogs, Cool Cats Pet Photo Contest came to a close Thursday, January 30th with a Chinese Crested dog named Tommy being named CCHS Pet of the Year 2020. Along with the pet of the year title, Tommy will receive a 100 Visa Gift card, a photo session with Catherine Panebianco Photography, and will receive a blanket with his photo on it. Tommy’s Mom is Carol Johnson of Jamestown.

Tommy was adopted from the CCHS in June of 2019.  Johnson submitted this story along with a photo of Tommy used in the competition: “Tommy’s my name and I was adopted from CCHS. My mommy is a foster mom for a rescue. The day her beloved Chinese Crested Billy went to heaven, I met my new mommy. It was a blessing for me & her. I know that Billy sent me to her because he loved her so much and he wanted her happy again. He shared his love to her through me. Many thanks to CCHS & Billy for finding me a loving forever home. My mom will tell you rescue pups are the best!”

The Hot Dogs, Cool Cats Photo contest raised $7,496, with the proceeds going directly to benefit the animals at the Chautauqua County Humane Society. CCHS Community Relations Director Brian Papalia thanked all 209 entrants who submitted photos. Papalia said “It is such a fun contest to watch, and it’s amazing to read the stories of the participating animals. Papalia also thanked the sponsors that made the competition a possibility including presenting sponsor Happy Hounds Hotel and Day Spa LLC., the Media One Radio Group (SE-93, My Country 101.9, 103.1 The Fox, 106.9 Kiss FM, WJTN AM & FM, and WKSN), and Panebianco Photography for their sponsorship support.

The top 10 animal participants will appear on their own warm fuzzy full or twin size blanket. CCHS will announce the date the prizes will be given after the blankets are produced.
